Notes About the Recordings 

Shortly before his death in 2005, Dr. Crouch had began converting his Bible study cassette tapes to CD’s as technology had advanced and cassette tapes were being phased out. He was not able to complete this process before he died. When my mom passed away in 2024, I inherited all of the thousands of cassettes and CD’s of Bible studies, Sunday lessons, and radio program recordings.

Technology continues to advance and now CD's are becoming obsolete. It was a monumental task but I was able to convert all of the cassettes and CD’s to mp3 format. Now a whole closet full of tapes and CD’s will fit on one thumb drive! My goal is to preserve these valuable Bible lessons and to continue Dr. Crouch's mission to provide his studies of Word of God free of charge to anyone who is interested. These Bible studies can be streamed from the website. You are welcome to listen, download and share these Bible studies as long as they are not altered in any way, used commercially or sold for profit.

Imperfections in the recordings:

The oldest tapes are more than 50 years old. The newest are over 20 years old. Converting the cassettes and CD's to mp3 was challenging due to the large number of recordings and because there were tapes with deteriorated quality and mechanical issues. Some of the CD's were damaged or poorly burned. There are some recordings that are lower quality than the others. Some of the recordings start off with low audio or poor quality but then after a couple of minutes the audio quality improves. Some tapes and CD’s were lost over the years. I was able to find duplicates of most of the lost or damaged recordings and piece together most of the New Testament.

I also have a large number of Dr. Crouch's radio programs on cassette that I converted to mp3 but many of these tapes were lost over the years. While I do not have complete books of the radio programs, each radio program recording stands on its own. These radio programs are also verse by verse teaching. Each book he taught on for the radio programs can be found in it's entirety in the regular non-radio program studies.

For many of the books the recordings were divided into smaller recordings as a tape ended in the middle of a lesson or a tape ended in the middle of a CD or a recording was edited in length for radio program. You will find some recordings a long as an hour and some as short as 1 minute.  

For lessons recorded live during church services, the cassette tape had to be turned over to the second side halfway through the lesson in order to record the entire lesson. Live recordings can end in the middle of a sentence as the cassette ended and was flipped to the other side to resume recording. A sentence or two may be missed completely. The next file may pick up in the middle of a sentence. In some instances Dr. Crouch continued teaching after the tape ended. In these cases, the few sentences of the lesson did not get recorded.

For recordings of the home Bible studies you will hear many clocks ticking and many chimes sounding, some every 15 minutes, as Dr. Crouch was also a collector of antique clocks. You may also hear our little indoor dogs barking or a telephone ring as he was on call for the hospital. For the recordings made during a worship service you may hear CB radio transmissions bleeding in to the audio system and coming out of the speakers from cars and trucks passing by during the service. As Dr. Crouch moves away from the microphone to write on the chalk board or moves around as he is speaking the audio drops. 

At times, Dr. Crouch would finish a chapter and begin the next chapter in the same recording. In these instances you will see file names like 1 PETER ch 4-19-ch 5-6. When you select the page for 1 Peter chapter 5, the first file will be 1 PETER ch 4-19-ch 5-6. So, this file will be found at the end of chapter 4 and again at the beginning of chapter 5. This way the tab for each chapter will be complete containing all of the verses for that chapter though it will also contain verses from the previous chapter.  

All of the books of the New Testament are included except for Matthew and Mark. I did not find a single recording for either of these two books. All throughout the verse by verse studies on Luke and John, Dr. Crouch includes the parallel verses and teachings from Matthew and Mark. I can only assume that because these parallel teachings covered a significant part of Matthew and Mark, that Dr. Crouch felt it was more important for him to complete studies on other books in the New and Old Testament. Dr. Crouch also has studies on almost half of the Old Testament. He only partially covered the books of Job, Psalms and Proverbs. There are a total of 44 books covered in the studies.
